Thanks for the report! The built-in search bar is designed to be minimalistic so adding a new option really needs to be something that you use often. I will not close this wish, but I'm afraid the chances are slim. Thanks again for the prompt answer. I use search from top during each and every search. In fact, the majority of my searches require for code to be found throughout the whole tranche of code. Searching from the current cursor position only is a faulty or incomplete search. If you look at my pop-up example on my previous bug report you will see that there is plenty of space for such a radio button, in fact it hardly takes up any space at all. It should be clicked by default and allow a search from the cursor location only when unclicked. Once again I think this is a reasonable request as it will make Kate act like other very decent editors and it will then incorporate what Windows users have come to expect. I'd like Kate to have a wider audience and Windows users expect this sort of functionality by default. I have had this 'advanced' functionality for years and years on Context and Notepad++, on the VB6 IDE &c. It is simply expected. Have you tried "find all"? That searches the whole document. Ctrl + R Click "Find All". Reopen if your request is something different. |
