Description Ivan S 2018-01-12 00:57:32 UTC
The titlebars on some GTK apps, tested with pavucontrol and midori, are missing. Instead, titlebars are shown on their right-click menus.
GTK3 apps, tested with clamtk, show titlebars properly.
Comment 1 Martin Flöser 2018-01-12 05:15:56 UTC
That is a problem of gtk, not of KWin.
Comment 2 Ivan S 2018-01-12 14:32:23 UTC
Reported against GTK, see how that goes: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=792476
Comment 3 Ivan S 2018-01-12 14:46:46 UTC
Went to GTK developers, they said it was probably an issue with KWin's XWayland implementation.
Comment 4 Martin Flöser 2018-01-12 15:29:46 UTC
and nothing changed in KWin for Xwayland windows regarding rendering.

Sorry that this now looks as bug ping pong. Unfortunately it's GTK which has the track record of breaking decorations, not us.
Comment 5 Martin Flöser 2018-01-12 15:31:23 UTC
And just to be sure: I just started Gimp and it has normal and working window decorations.
Comment 6 Ivan S 2018-01-12 16:26:50 UTC
This isn't a problem with all GTK apps, just with GTK2

I understood, that's why I tried gimp, which is still gtk2.
Comment 8 Ivan S 2018-01-21 15:58:28 UTC
OK, after some testing, this actually happens on GTK3, not GTK2 apps. I tested this on a separate account - this is not a user issue.
Could you please test on one of the apps I tested this on? Tested with:
-Pavucontrol
-Geany
-Midori
