In the viewport, you can:

- use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out of the canvas.
- Use CTRL + Space + Mouse to smoothly zoom in and out of the canvas.
- Hold Space to pan around the image smoothly.
- Use CTRL + Shift to rotate the canvas.

You cannot do any of that in the reference image docker. The only zoom method is very basic and repositions the view in the upper left of the image when zooming in and out of the image. That's a big pain, especially when we're forced to use the scrollbars to "reorient" the image where it once was before the user tried to interact with it.

Here's a Google Drive video showing this off: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Td2r-nv4CDOhBgP3mAd7siFiWamswue/view?usp=sharing

Essentially it's lack of basic control.

This is present in the 4.0 Alpha version as well, and nothing is different. I'm hoping that this will be fixed before its release?

We're replacing the reference image docker with a different solution, but that won't be ready before Krita 4.1, so no, there won't be changes to the reference image docker in krita 4.0.

Aw, that's a shame. I just started warming up to the reference image docker. Thanks for helping me with this situation.

Whatever you guys have planned, I look forward to it. I know it's going to be great. :D
