- close the side bars and open a map in the main bar
- select some images from the map and show only the selected images in a slide show (shortcut Alt+F9)
- pause the slide show

result: the mouse is no longer shown

- now move the mouse into the image and it will reappear
- go with the mouse to the slide show button to jump to the next/previous image in the lower left

result: the mouse disappears again. The mouse disappears always whenever you want to click on the buttons to got next/previous, stop or pause/play.
