Dolphin is not displaying svg graphics in the right way in preview mode because it does not support the newer svg standards.
I think it is the same issue as with gwenview (bug #336436).
I don't know either dolphin is responsible for this, but I have not found the option to report a bug for the image preview module.
I used https://github.com/googlei18n/noto-emoji/blob/master/svg/emoji_u1f389.svg as sample image.
