This is a major bug that makes Okular completely unsuitable when PDFs go back and forth between collaborating authors, eg when multiple reviewers add replies to a comment. This scenario is very common in academic, publishing and admin environments. The worst part is that, as the reporter said, Okular gives you no indication at all that there is something missing. So, you have to assume that you have to double-check with another application every time (or simply use that other application in the first place and forget about Okular). |
Created attachment 109337 [details] PDF containing a sticky note with replies I received a PDF that had some sticky notes with critique of the content. Unfortunately, the text itself is contained within a reply to the note. A "reply" to a sticky note are (in foxit reader) displayed as a "note within the note" (screenshot attached, I assume adobe reader does the same). This is also what I'd optimally expect from Okular. Unfortunately in practice, Okular hides replies completely, so it appears as though there is a note containing nothing at all. I have attached a test pdf with a note with two replies, and screenshots of it currently looks in okular vs. foxit.
