Thanks for your report. I am trying to reproduce your situation but I am not sure. Are you getting some sort of notifications about tracks not being found or just the spinner ? Created attachment 109327 [details]
Image showing the dialog box.
This is where I am stuck. No progress nothing. If I try to drag-drop or double-click to open a file, nothing happens.
Thanks for the snapshot. If I understand correctly, the configuration dialog is not showing when pressing the button. Is it correct ? NO, configuration dialog is showing and I could select my custom path. Has the arch package lisgted all dependencies correctly? This is the list: baloo kcmutils qt5-quickcontrols qt5-quickcontrols2 upnp-player-qt extra-cmake-modules (make) kdoctools (make) I believe the package has all needed dependencies either directly or indirectly. I believe the problem may be that scanning is taking a very long time to provide user visible feedback. Let me check that and see what I can do. Created attachment 109328 [details] attachment-17702-0.html Alright. Ping me if you need any further info. I appreciate your work. KDE badly needs audio and video player based on latest codecs and qt5. ________________________________ From: Matthieu Gallien <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> Sent: Tuesday, December 12, 2017 3:42:24 AM To: now.im.627@gmail.com Subject: [elisa] [Bug 387772] Stuck at configuring https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387772 --- Comment #5 from Matthieu Gallien <matthieu_gallien@yahoo.fr> --- I believe the package has all needed dependencies either directly or indirectly. Let me check that and see what I can do. -- You are receiving this mail because: You reported the bug. Alright. Ping me if any further info is needed. I have the same behaviour except I'm explicitly trying to use it without baloo (this is supposed to be possible, right?) I can add a folder, but it hangs with the circle loading thing, no music is added. Thanks for the report. The usage of Elisa without Baloo is supported and this is what I use when running under Windows. After having added the folder, could you describe exactly what happen ? There is another thing that may help. Could you test with the flatpak build of Elisa ? See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Flatpak for general instructions. After downloading tons of runtimes and files, I was able to run it in flatpak. Same issue parsists. I am really surprised that you are not facing the problem. Attachment has the log. Terminal Flatpak
okay, I left elisa open and after some time it stopped searching for track but every time I open the app, same configure thing. Right now there is no option to add track path. I could not open any AAC file, thus tried to open a MP3 file. I could not open that either. Most of my music files are in AAC format. So, it is vital that elisa can open that. The support for file format depends on Qt Multimedia that uses gstreamer. Please if you use a build different from the flatpak one, checks that you have the needed support for gstreamer. I have created https://phabricator.kde.org/T7603 to optimize the next run of the application after the first indexing and when not using baloo. You can follow it to know when it is done. Could you please test with the latest release ? I have tried to improve things even if I plan to work again on this. Tested the latest git build. Problem exists. Hi Yesterday I reinstalled my Arch Linux + KDE Plasma, installed Elisa from Arch reositories. I can't confirm the problem described here. When I opened Elisa, I saw spinner but I added all my files to music library without any poblem and Elisa can play them. I copied same music in Home music partition and have songs mainly in NTFS partition. I have tried to add the two source individually and together. No method works for me. I think for me the problem is fixed. After the latest update, the error vanished. Thanks for your hard work. You can close the issue. Have a nice day. Thanks for your report. For your information, I am optimizing refresh scan of your music after the first start. I hope this will improve your usecase. Yes, I visited the development thread and found some other work is going on. KDE needed a decent music player. Your project fills the hole. Good luck! |
