It's kind of confusing that Digikam creates new windows (e.g. Image Editor, Light Table, Batch Queue)instead to refresh actual main window (e.g. the refresh from Thumbnails to Preview -mode) - i love single window mode. Its not just more modern, but also less confusing.

In Darktable for example, we see a clear workflow process clicking on the button Labels in the top-right corner, following a logical workflow sequence: Light Table, Dark Room, Tethering, Map, Diashow, Print

Definitively, no. digiKam was build in goal to separated all main task in dedicated windows to be more explicit, instead to embed all in one. digiKam is not Darktable and don't want to be...

Working in multiscreen is really better with digiKam.

So i close this file as won't fix.

Every project has its own goals and I'm not pointing out but rather citing a good example.

Open source is stricter than commercial software as we know because of fewer developers who have their own worries.
IMO, Single window mode isn't a breaking thing, but a feature who users can decide to use or not. So, it's no useless luxury I suggest, but rather Ergonomy.
So, I didn't choose randomly. But my bug report touched multiple aspects, who are related in some way. I write 2 more reports?
