Sentry Crash Report:

Description nfxjfg 2017-11-28 13:26:19 UTC
This happened when Debian unstable updated Kate Version 17.08.1 -> Kate Version 17.08.3. (I still have a window from the older version open, so I'm pretty sure of this.) Both use "Kate Part Version 5.37.0".

For example "if" is now rendered as normal text instead of bold. In the "Fonts & Colors" settings, the Keyword and Control Flow items are checked as bold (and they're correctly previewed as such) for both Default Text Styles and Highlighting Text Styles for Sources/C and Sources/C++.

Playing around some more, it seems any bold rendering is broken. Keyword highlighting broke because it was the only thing that used bold. I can change keyword highlighting to italic, which works. Likewise, changing normal text to bold doesn't work and renders like normal text.

I didn't change the font, although I changed it and changed it back to the old font. It's Liberation Mono, and selecting Bold in the font selection dialog works and makes everything bold.
