when starting a completely new installation of skrooge the skrooge window will have focus rather than the tip of the day window, even though the day tip of the day is on top. looks silly and means you can't close the tip with 'esc'.

(also I for one would suggest you reconsider tip of the day. it's a fairly 1990's feature that is more useless than useful. the tip in the screenshot is a prime example of why. as a user these are my thoughts: do I need to do anything to make re-opening happen? it doesn't tell me how though! [now I am worried] perhaps I don't need to do anything, but then why does skrooge need to tell me? [now I am confused] and in either case why is it preventing me from getting work done by throwing this window in my face? [now I am angry]... if you feel there are things to teach your user I suggest you do it when contextually relevant for example using kmessagewidget at appropriate times)

Hi,

I just use KTipDialog::showTip. This function seems to not set the focus on the modal window.

@Haral, I will take care of your remarks on the utility of this kind of panel.

Seems fixed now; Skrooge 2.20 uses an in-window widget to display tips, no dialog shown on first run.
