i am using kde on fedora 27 but i have noticed this before on prior versions. i am not 100% sure how to explain this but the sound seems to keep crashing and rebooting constantly like every 10-20 seconds over and over again no matter what i am doing within kde or just there is a cut-out in the sound like every 10-20 seconds not at even intervals but very, very frequently.

i am not good with sound issues so i am not sure what to do from here.

okay, so after looking at /var/log/messages, i came across line after line from the attached file. i google that and found...

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=221933

and...

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_PulseAudio_problems

so i went into /etc/pulse/default.po

and set...

after "load-modeule module-udev-detect" added "tched=0". that seemed to do nothing but might be part of the solution.

then i commented out one of the top lines, "load-module module-switch-on-port-available" and restarted and that seemed to stop the crackling. while it did stop it, i am not sure if that is a "fix" or a work-around and how to mark this or if there is a further issue.

This is almost certainly an issue with how PulseAudio is configured in Fedora. I would recommend filing a bug on the Fedora bug tracker.
