When using keyboard navigation in Gwenview's "Folders" sidebar, you can move around with the arrow keys, i.e. select different folders and even open subfolders. Upon pressing "Enter", the currently selected folder gets displayed 

However, after this the keyboard focus is still on the sidebar instead of on the thumbnail view. This should be changed, because navigating between pictures is the most likely operation to be performed at this point. Navigating to another folder can be done either from within the thumbnail view, or by re-focussing the sidebar with "Shift + Tab".

Note that Dolphin is already behaving as proposed.

Config options (especially in Gwenview) should be used only sparingly, it is often better to just provide a good default. Note how "Space" already moves to the next image, although the sidebar is still focused. This means we don't break anyone's workflow if we would define "Space" as "Enter Folder + Move Focus".

On the other hand, I realized "Enter + Tab" already has the same effect, so maybe not worth spending time on achieving the same thing with one key press less?
