About box of version with bug
Unless you can present definitive information to the contrary, this looks like a duplicate of Bug 383413. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 383413 *** The definitive evidence is that THIS IS NOT RESOLVED and it keeps crashing more and more often with every update. NONE apply successfully. You indicated that you are using Discover 5.8.8 with Qt 5.7.1. Nobody has seen a version of this crash when using a newer versions of Discover or Qt. If you can reproduce this crash when using newer versions of Discover or Qt, we would like to know about it. But if you are only able to reproduce the issue when using Discover 5.8.x with Qt 5.7.x, then please upgrade to newer versions and stop changing the bug status. RESOLVED doesn't necessarily have to mean it's resolved for you; if you are using an old version (as you are), it may well be unresolved for you. But in that case, the solution is to upgrade to a newer version. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 383413 *** RESOLVED with fix released DOES mean it has to be fix for me, but it is NOT. I apply ALL updates, but your update process is broken. It never completes. Please stop flagging something fixed which has only had a half hearted attempt made. LTS Means Long Term Support This means "wipe and install newer" is NOT a solution. AGILE is a fraudulent methodology. I will repeat: please stop changing the bug status. This is a bug tracker, not a support forum. In a bug tracker, RESOLVED means that there is a fix for the problem *somewhere,* in *some version*. If you do not have that version, then you may not have the fix, and it is not resolved for you until you are able to get that newer version. As far as we can tell, this issue is fixed for some version that is newer than what you have. If Discover is not working to update things to that version, you may have to use the command-line. Try `sudo apt upgrade`. You do not need to do an erase-install. Just use the `apt` package manager to update your packages. But again, this is not support forum. If you need help updating, that is a matter to bring up in the KDE support forum or somewhere else. *Please do not change the bug status again* unless you are able to demonstrate that this issue happens for you when using a newer version of Qt than 5.7.x, and a newer version of Discover than 5.8.x. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 383413 *** |
