Description firewalker 2017-10-29 10:45:49 UTC
I am in a situation that I have to connect (not at once) to my laptop multiple secondary displays (projectors, monitors, tv-sets), via HDMI or mini Display-Port. With KDE-4 the system could remember the settings for every display. Upon connecting it, it would choose the preferred resolution etc.

With KDE-5, the system seems to be ignorant for what display is connected each time, and selects the latest settings. It detects the model of the display, but it applies the resolution selected for the last display connected.

Thanks for the bugreport!

Could you collect the config files and log file as outlined in https://community.kde.org/Solid/Projects/ScreenManagement so I can see what's happening on your system?

Thanks!

Ok! I will do it and, report back.

It seems that the problem isn't kde specific.

For some reason the display port converter I use broke down (?) and doesn't recognize the edid data of monitors it used to recognise. It recognize some of them.

With another adapter, it works fine.

Alright, thanks for the report! I'll mark the bug as invalid, since it's a cable / connector problem.
