To reproduce:

Have a folder in your home directory like:

/home/yourhome/some/path/to/core

and also a path named "core" in the root directory:

/core

Your dolphin view should display the folder panel on the left, which is synced to the detailed view (without trees activated).

Now, if I open the "/home/yourhome/some/path/to/core" folder in the right panel, on the left the folder panel jumps to the "/core" folder as selection.

I cannot reproduce this issue with Dolphin 18.04.2. Can you confirm that this bug is also fixed for you?
