At the very minimum, we need the following information to even begin to take a stab at triaging the issue: - Detailed Steps to Reproduce - Kate version - KDE Frameworks version - Distro and distro version, if applicable - Are you using Kate in a KD Plasma environment, or in another Desktop Environment like GNOME or Cinnamon? - Detailed Steps to Reproduce A session opens with a split view which was not already split view. checking and unchecking the "include window configuration" option makes problem go away. - Kate version Kate Version 16.04.3 - KDE Frameworks version KDE Frameworks 5.36.0 - Distro and distro version, if applicable Lxle (Lubuntu derivative) - Are you using Kate in a KD Plasma environment, or in another Desktop Environment like GNOME or Cinnamon? lxde Thanks for the info.
