When plugging in a USB flash drive or an Android device in MTP mode, those are detected by the device notifier and also show up in Dolphin's "Places" panel in the "Devices" subsection as well as in KIO's file dialogs.

For camera:/ based access (i.e. an Android device in PTP mode), the device notifier shows up and the device is accessible in Dolphin. However, no icon shows up in the "Places" panel. This could be added.

(Note: Product "kio" with component "kamera" does not provide a KF5 based version, so I filed this against "frameworks-kio/general" for the lack of more detailed components.)

Strongly agree. Perhaps they should be listed in the new "Removable Devices" section that will hopefully be introduced with https://phabricator.kde.org/D8348
