Could you please explain in more detail and paste your system parameters, software versions used, etc.

Sorry for the delay. I use archlinux and plasma is in version 5.11.4. I don't know which files to send so if you need some plasma configuration files, you can ask me for them.
The problem is that even if icons on screen are locked, they moved to a small part of the screen, sometimes when i disconnect the computer from a second screen (in the left up part of it).
So after that i have to unlock them, and to move at the good place with the good size.

KDE Plasma: 5.12.5
KDE Frameworks: 5.44.0
QT Version: 5.9.5
Kernel: 4.15.0-24

I have exactly the same problem, and it is getting too much having to re arrange icons every morning. After suspend with an additional monitor attached the icons rearrange themselves in a column (or row depending how you have your settings)...

Locking the icons after rearranging them does not help.

Please help!

What's exactly your workflow when this happens? You disconnect a display and only afterwards use ARandR to have only one display? But don't you have already only one display after disconnecting?

Yes it happened after i disconnect the second screen

Experiencing this problem with Plasma 5.19.5 on Gentoo. My laptop is an Asus UX563F which has a permanently attached second screen under the touchpad so I'm trying to use this for desktop icons since it's more useful than having to hide all open windows to get to the primary desktop, but occasionally after a reboot, or after returning from sleep, or after folding the screen over and back again (second screen disconnects while the primary screen is flipped over), I'm finding that the icons lose their placement and just revert to their natural single row position.

The screen is positioned and rotated via KDE's System Settings -> Display and Monitor configuration, which presumably writes an xrandr set-up somewhere.

Seems to be the same root cause as Bug 374158 where the containment changes, and this causes icons to be re-arranged.
