I guess this is more of a request.

After selecting one or more thumbnails with GPS coordinates then launching the Geolocation Editor, it centres randomly hundreds or thousands of miles away from any of the image's locations. Of course this is quickly rectified by clicking a thumbnail.

Suggest the following rules:

No images have coordinates -> Centre map from last usage of the Geo Editor.

Some images have different coordinates -> Centre the map on the first image in the list with coordinates.

All images have different coordinates -> Centre the map on the first image in the list.

All images have the same coordinates -> Centre map on any image.

Thank you.

In the next version (digiKam-5.8.0) the problem of random zoom and position will be solved. The wish that we automatically jump to coordinates of an image in the list, I think that is not a good idea. If the coordinates are incorrect, the view also lands somewhere on the north or south pole.

The next 5.8.0 pre-version bundle can be downloaded from there for testing :

About the jump to coordinates of an image in the list, i join the Maik viewpoint. This can be a problematic behavior.
