Please stop grumbling about this on every available medium (mailing list, review board, now bug tracker, ...). It isn't helpful -- it's just adding noise to your reports. Being able to view documentation inline is and continues to be an integral part of what an IDE has to offer.
Having said that, thanks for the detailed bug report. The crash should be fixed of course -- the documentation toolview should be properly initialized and shown afterwards.
