hello,
I preferred the interface of version 1.7.1 where there was only one line of exercise that appeared, the visual was more readable for me, especially for the stats.
I tried to release this version but it doesn't work with debian 9. 
So I wonder if it would be possible to choose between the two interfaces, for future version ?

No, that is very unlikely.

The old interface you prefer is based on Qt version 3 (this why you can't build the app anymore, no current distribution ships Qt3 anymore). It has to be ported to Qt version 5 to be able to run alongside the current user interface. I don't see enough value in the old interface to warrant the work required.
