That's a feature. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to use tons of applications running within konsole. E.g. the default for copy is Ctrl-C - do you really want konsole to copy if you press Ctrl-C? I doubt it would make many users lucky. Greetings Stephan You're right with CTRL sequences. Maybe the application shortcuts aren't the solution for my problem but i really would like to use the cut/copy/paste keys on my Sun keyboard for their natural purpose _especially_ in the shell windows. Unfortunately i can't use the Solaris dtterm because CTRL-C -S ... don't work in KDE :-( (no effect). Felix. There is no "cut" available in a terminal emulator. You don't need "copy" a= s=20 selecting always sets text in clipboard and selection (speaking of KDE 3.0). You can define "paste" please read $KDEDIR/share/apps/konsole/README.KeyTab In KDE 3.1 there will also be a GUI to configure it. My strong opinion is that Konsole should allow setting additional shortcuts. E.g. i would like to use Ctrl+Insert for copying the selection (as Konsole allowed to do before), but it doesn't let me do so. I agree there should only minimal set of default shortcuts to reduce possibility of interfering with programs run in the Konsole. But when i'm adding a shortcut myself, it is my responsibility to choose a shortcut that doesn't break input to programs. Why doesn't Konsole allow me to do that? Prohibiting is not the way out. |
