Description Jennifer Reuter 2017-09-23 03:45:16 UTC
It seems, on occasion when I start up Krita, all of my custom tags for brushes are deleted.

Reproducible: No (seems to happen at random)

Steps taken:
1. Open Krita
2. Right click to call up the quick-access wheel.
3. Click on the tags circle.

Actual Results:
Only default brush tags and brush bundles appear.

Expected Results:
All tags are visible, including custom assigned ones.

Platform:
Windows 8.1
Krita 3.2.1

Further comments:

Right after noticing my custom tags are gone, I went into the Roaming > Krita > Tags folder and checked if anything changed there. All the xml files are visible. When I went into kis_brushed_tags, it was populated with entries, but when I opened kis_paintoppresets_tags, it was completely empty.
I went back into Krita and created a 'Test Tag'. Checked the painttoppresets xml again, and it repopulated the file. However, any custom tags I had beforehand did not return.

When I search for the 'Test Tag' in either xml, it doesn't seem to be stored at all. Do custom tags get saved elsewhere?

I haven't done any settings resets that I know of. Brush presets themselves are intact, and so are my work-space tags. It just happens to brush tags.

Cheers.

Update: when I check the paintoppresets_tags xml file again, if shows my custom tags are being used (in this case, I have 'Lineart' and 'Grunge Lineart' tags setup).
I deleted the Test Tag within Krita but it still shows up in the above file, even after closing Krita. Which is unrelated to the bug but seems a bit odd.

Do you mean it only happens sometimes and not always?

Do you have any security software installed on your system?

This is fixed in 3.3.0-rc1
Comment 4 Jennifer Reuter 2017-09-25 05:08:01 UTC
Yeah, it happens only sometimes. And I have Avira Antivirus installed. But I'll check out the 3.3.0sc1 version and let you know if the issue continues there.
