Description Andras 2017-09-20 03:11:02 UTC
Is there a way to set Krita not to dim image with an overlay when I create or convert layer to filter mask? Interesting that if I apply filter directly to the image than there is no dim. I think this behavior makes the filter setup process useless because I can't see clearly how the filter affects to the image.
I found this thread:
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=139&t=138999&p=372288&hilit=filter+mask#p372288
and I tried to turn off desktop effects which are related maybe but nothing changed.

Krita doesn't do that, it's the window manager which does that. Whether or not that is configurable depends on which window manager you're using.

Thanks for the prompt response! I won't assume there is option to ask for advice here seems it's an invalid report although I was guided on Krita's IRC to report a bug here about this.
system related info: nvidia 375.82 / kde plasma 5.8.6 / Qt 5.7.1 / kernel 4.9.0-3-amd64
It's ok if it will be deleted anyway.

With kwin, the option is here:

right-click on the titlebar
choose More Actions/Window Manager Settings
Go to the Desktop Effects page
Search for "Dialog Parent" and uncheck it.
