While the browser feels generally fairly snappy, opening a new tab via Ctrl-T sometimes takes more than a second during which time the window seems entirely frozen.

I can't reproduce it, would be great if you can get backtrace when it freezes.

Fwiw, I can't reproduce this anymore on Arch with Falkon 3.0.1. I'll mark this as resolved hence.
