I'm afraid Konqueror is deprecated now in favor of Falkon. Can you please provide a link to a discussion that indicates Konqueror is deprecated? I could find nothing about that. Also, there are still active bugs about Konqueror on this website. Also, Falkon seems to be a web browser, so it cannot deprecate Konqueror as a file manager... Dolphin has been the file manager of choice for many years now, and Falkon is a new Web browser that aims to replace Konqueror's web browsing function. I will agree with you that this transition has not been communicated well. There is some information here: https://community.kde.org/Incubator/Projects/Falkon#QupZilla The bottom line is that is is very unlikely that Konqueror will receive any further development given that there are more modern replacements for both of its major functions (file management and web browsing). I prefer to close these bugs to avoid giving people false hope. I understand this this is probably a major disappointment, but as with all things in tech, time marches on and unmaintained code rots. It's just the way of the world. |
