Was this a Kate issue or perhaps you pasted wrong output? Created attachment 107646 [details] attachment-3582-0.html Thank you for your response, Kurt. I am learning Debian. Being my first error i clicked the link shown under 'help'. I was not clear to me if the problem was Kate or Konsole. Does it appear to be a Konsole issue instead? I appreciate your guidance. The pasted info is from Kate - it looks from info output - did kate actually crash? Also, did you run kate in a Konsole tab? Created attachment 107777 [details] attachment-18762-0.html Hi Kurt, When i typed kate into Konsole command prompt and pressed the enter key the result was what i originally posted. While Kate seemed to run ok, Konsole lost the cursor. This is expected. To run a command in the background, i.e. with the Konsole prompt still working, type this: kate & GUI applications generally output much debug information to the Konsole. Looking at comment #0, I see nothing suspicious. Resolving accordingly. |
