Description Roxane 2017-08-11 18:23:22 UTC
Hi.
I'm not sure for how long, but i'm pretty sure it worked about a month ago, but the Rotoscoping effect has stopped working completely. Before i could just click the preview to start making the mask, but now it only starts the video, and i haven't been able to find somethig that works.
Also i'd like to point out that we can no longer select all the points to move them at the same time (or i don't know how, but it used to work with shift)
I'd be very grateful if anybody knows someway to fix this.
Thanks,
Roxane Pétrot

I recently came across the same problem and am unable to fix it. Many of my projects are reliant on this effect, for me the problem started when kdenlive was updated to the latest version.

Hi,

I am unable to reproduce on 17.08.
Try the following steps:
 - add rotoscoping effect to your clip
 - seek to a position in the middle of the clip (where you want to add keyframe for example)
 - clic or double clic on the project monitor (not the clip monitor). That should create a new anchor on the screen (in red)
 - clic several more times to create your shape
 - right clic to close the shape
 - In the effect panel, you may now add a keyframe with the + button

Tell me how it goes

How were you able to install version 17.08. I've tried installing it several times and all I get is version 17.04

I can't reproduce even on 17.04.3.
What happens when you try the steps described in my previous comment ?

When I try the steps you described, all it does it play my project. It used to work as you said but doesn't anymore.
I also think I have issues with other similar keyframes effects. I'll tell you more tomorrow when I get back to my computer.

Hi Roxane,

Double clic on the project monitor (make sure it is not the clip monitor) should never trigger start playback.

If you have no effects or have disabled on-screen widgets, it should toggle full-screen. If you do have a rotoscoping enabled for the current effect and double clicking toggles full-screen, make sure that on-screen widgets are enabled (square icon just on the right of the volume control icon, below the project monitor)

Tell me how it goes.

Hi,
You're right, it plays when I click and goes full screen when I double click.
It worked ! I actually had the show/hide edit mode not selected, I didn't even know what that was but now I know, thank you so much :D
