kgpg doesn't allow for encrypting text using properly imported public keys of potential recipients. a program for encryption that does not encrypt. there are no typographical errors in that sentence, so drink it all the way down. everything from installation through attempted implementation done 100% by the book without error, if it matters. it's like some dark miracle, really. I'm in awe. I've imported several public keys. I write the message, I click the lock and the only option I get is myself! I have no doubt that continued attempts will drive me fully insane but at present I see no use in encrypting messages to myself. what a disgrace.

Either select "allow encryption with untrusted keys" or sign those keys.
