Three investment accounts, with associated brokerage accounts were established along with three Securities. Each have been in use for close to two years. A purchase of an existing security, one that's been purchased several times in another investment account, was recently made. When attempting to add the "Buy" to the investment account I found the Security did not appear in the"Securities Drop Down" list. I've checked all settings, security and account information but cannot find a setting that will add the existing security to the drop down list. I've also notice the other two investment accounts don't show all Securities shown in the list of securities under the Investments Tab

A solution to this issue may be found at https://sourceforge.net/p/kmymoney2/mailman/message/21491191/. Although it refers to KMM version 2, the provided resolution worked for version 4.8.0. Following is the resolution from that post;

"DOpen the investment account in the investment view. Right click and add create a 'New investment'. Use the same symbol as for the security you created. Otherwise, KMyMoney will create another one.

Once you have gone through the above mentioned procedure, the stock account shows up in your list."

The key to this solution is utilize the existing stock symbol when creating the new stock. Once you do, the stock will show up in the drop list.
