You can add a new face using the CTRL key and the left mouse button to draw a rectangle. Is this behavior enough? Maik (In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #1) > You can add a new face using the CTRL key and the left mouse button to draw > a rectangle. Is this behavior enough? > > Maik Holy cow, shame on me! It is even better than what I asked for. I guess I gotta go back to reading the manual... Thanks Maik! Andrius, The manual (handbook) needs maintainer. If you is interrested to patch it, i can guide you, in case of something is missing somewhere... https://docs.kde.org/trunk5/en/extragear-graphics/digikam/index.html Gilles Caulier (In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #3) > Andrius, > > The manual (handbook) needs maintainer. Let me know what is your preferred method of communication 7.0.0-beta1 is out with new Face Recognition algorithm based on Deep Learning/Neural Network API from OpenCV https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ Please test and give us a feedback Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier (In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #5) > 7.0.0-beta1 is out with new Face Recognition algorithm based on Deep > Learning/Neural Network API from OpenCV > > https://download.kde.org/unstable/digikam/ > > Please test and give us a feedback > > Thanks in advance > Gilles Caulier Well, the 7.0.0 does not stay in face tagging mode either but it is kind of irrelevant since you can face tag holding 'Ctrl' button. I just did not know about that option before Maik pointed here. Ctrl + mouse draw is a nice trick! Yet, if the "add a face tag" is kept, it would be useful. digiKam 7.0.0 stable release is now published: https://www.digikam.org/news/2020-07-19-7.0.0_release_announcement/ We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version. Best Regards Gilles Caulier Although the "CTRL + mouse draw" to create a new face tag is great, I still believe a possibility to have a "locked add face tag" mode would be helpful. I am tagging a lot of photos in my archive during these days, and every saved step counts. By a lot :-) How about ctrl or shift + click on the "add face tag" icon? It could lock the adding mode until the user presses ESC. (All other things would remain as they are now: automatic focus on entry field once a region is drawn, arrow key to select a filtered face tag, enter to confirm and save, space bar to proceed to next image.) *** Bug 441943 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 442014 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I was reffered to this ticket because I created a duplicate (sorry, I did not find this one myself). I think, the ctrl shortcut absolutely needs a tooltip or something. I don't think I would ever have tried that on my own. after working ~3 minutes with Ctrl+Click I am now pretty convinced that this should be the standard behaviour. I just went through 40 images in the time I usually need for 10. no tooltip, no ctrl+click, just: I press that button, and it toggles on into add face tag. (just like the button right next to it, that displays or hides the existing face tags). |
