I'm on the most recent version and when click save as / save and try to save my file in the correct folder the save window stays open and it doesn't save my file

Reportedly it works fine on windows 10, and it works fine here with the latest .appimage on x86-64 linux. Can you try updating and try again?

This usually is caused by antivirus or other "security" software that blocks Krita from saving. Are you running such software?

Can you try the latest version of krita and check whether this bug is still reproducible.

Since there is no reply on this bug report for a long time, I am going to close this now and you can open this if you are still facing the issue.
