A common use case (e.g. when creating white board animations) is to extract the last frame of a clip, add it after the clip and stretch it to cover the distance to the next clip. It would be nice to have a one-button solution for that, perhaps even for the whole project: "Fill gaps".

Thanks for report and sorry for huge answer delay.
The freeze effects is for that purpose; this is not a so common operation for most video editors...
