When opening any window in DLangIDE (including the main window), the Kwin compositing/desktop effects gets disabled, and when quitting the IDE they get reenabled.

please provide output of xprop and xwininfo of an affected window.

_NET_WM_BYPASS_COMPOSITOR(CARDINAL) = 1

The application asks for it, KWin does. If you don't like you can create a window specific rule to overwrite or use the setting to disallow it in general.
