Description Lars Fischer 2017-05-21 18:23:11 UTC
Overview:
When I enter "info:ls" rekonq keeps creating new empty tabs. I have to rapidly close all new tabs to stop that behaviour.

Steps to Reproduce:
Enter "info:ls" into the rekonq address widget or in krunner, without the quotes.

Actual Results:
rekonq keeps creating new empty tabs.

Expected Results:
Only one tab is created (or the current tab is used) and that tab displays the info documentation of ls (or whatever string follows the colon).

Additional Information:
I configured rekonq "Search Engines" to use "Colon" as "Keyword delimiter" and e.g. "man:ls" works as expected, so I dont think it has something to do with my rekonq settings.

System is Kubuntu 16.04.2, rekonq version is "rekonq
Version 2.4.2
Using KDE Development Platform 4.14.22",
kio-extra package version is: 4:16.04.3-0ubuntu1~ubuntu16.04~ppa61

After a fresh install of Kubuntu 18.04 (formatting / and keeping /home with the whole user config of KDE) it works.

First I noticed that man:gawk and info:gawk are opened in firefox. When firefox is invoked by info:gawk from krunner, it opens an URL like "file:///home/username/.cache/kioexec/krun/21448_0/gawk" . That works fine, but clicking on a section like Foreword3, firefox tries to open the url "info:/gawk/Foreword3" (notice that there is no kioexec/krun/21448_0 part).

After installing konqueror, krunner opens "info:gawk" in konqueror and browsing works as expected in konqueror.

I would consider this as Fixed.

Thanks for the update; changing status.

The title and description seems to suggest the issue might be specific to rekonq. Since rekonq is no longer maintained, and it works for you in Konqueror, let's close it.
