Does it work if you drag the URL from your browser to Dolphin? Yes. If I drag the URL from Firefox to Dolpin this crash does not happen and the source file is copied to the destination folder as expected. Ok, please install the debug symbols for kio and attach a new backtrace. A valgrind log could also help, see https://community.kde.org/Dolphin/FAQ/Crashes Created attachment 105397 [details]

I tried and attached both. I am not sure if they contain already the information that you need. By the way, today I realized that I get a similar crash if I drag&drop files from kdesvn to konsole. Does this crash still happen with a newer version of Dolphin/KIO? (In reply to Julian Schraner from comment #7) > Does this crash still happen with a newer version of Dolphin/KIO? With dolphin kde-apps/17.12.3 and kde-frameworks/kio 5.43.0-r1 the problem is definitely gone. I usually keep my Gentoo installation updated and I think the crash stopped happening last autumn. I just forgot to report on that. Thanks for the quick response :) *** Bug 398518 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
