Description Artur O. 2017-04-09 11:56:22 UTC
When toggling kwin compositing on/off using the hotkeys it seems that the plasmashell stops rendering and everything is stuck at "that" time; Icons, tray icons, icon-only taskmanager even the digital clock on the panel and widgets on desktop are affected.

Here are two screenshots from the exact same time, however on one it seems that it was taken several hours ago;

I've experianced this for quite some time now, think i mentioned it in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361154

Doing;
kquitapp5 plasmashell
plasmashell &>/dev/null &

will fix this temporary only to be triggered later on.

Back to plasmashell - KWin is not responsible for the content of windows.
Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2017-04-26 23:12:37 UTC
Does this also happen if you are using XRender compositing mode in KWin?
