The name Lut3D is too technical for a regular user. Maybe something more descriptive would be better? Something like "Color Presets"?

Which terminology is used in other OpenSource and Commercial applications ?

I think "Color preset" would be fine.
Comment 3 Maik Qualmann 2019-02-25 14:38:04 UTC
I think the term "color preset" does not do justice to the technology behind LUT3D, it's not just color changes. When I search for screenshots of Photoshop, the term "3D LUT" is also used there. Wikipedia still knows it as a "3D lookup table".

Good point! How about just "Preset"? The important point is that terms like "3D LUT" and "3D lookup table" are technically correct, but they mean nothing to a regular non-technical user.

Darktable : https://www.darktable.org/2019/05/New%20module-lut3d/

==> "3DLut"

PhotoShop : https://filtergrade.com/use-3d-luts-photoshop/

==> "Color Lockup" ... "3D Lut"

And it's the same for all other photo program. So...
