c++ is a legacy language, building on top of that is a nightmare for all future users This is really a matter of opinion, but it also reports some unproven facts (Qt is used in embedded systems as well). Uhh, I would like to *not* get my bug reports simply closed down on a flimsy offhand remark please. This is a valid concern, and at the very least I want to know how these leadership decisions are being made because nobody asked *me* whether I want KDE to switch to c++/QT. That decision was made hastily and without taking into account many important factors. KDE/Qt code is 20 years old, and has always been C++. Should we have asked you 20 years ago? |
