for me having any layer NOT in the timeline is more of a bother then having ALL layers in the timeline,it makes more sense to me to be able to read the layers in the same way as in layer docker. Especially now with layer colors also showing in the timeline.

So i would ask for a button in the animation docker,or a setting in the krita settings to have this behaviour by default.
Probably the animation docker makes most sense?

The other bug report requests the toggle as well, but has more artists input and it's more up to date, with the consideration of the fact that Krita right now puts all layers on the Timeline.
