1. GPU rendering is experimental and unsupported. 2. You are on an unsupported Kdenlive version. Upgrade Kdenlive and MLT first to most recent versions 16.12.x and 6.5.x/6.4.x. 3. Does the crash happen with GPU rendering off? 4. Does the crash happen when playing the MTS video clip using melt? 4. Does the crash happen when playing the MTS video clip using ffplay? I'm also having the same issue running on Gentoo. I'm running kdenlive-17.04.2, mlt-6.4.1-r2 and ffmpeg-3.3.2. I don't have GPU processing enabled in playback on the configuration screen. It doesn't actually appear to be due to an MTS clip, although that does instantly crash kdenlive, I actually get a 'kdenlive closed unexpectedly' error just starting it up and closing it down! This occurs regardless of loading mts videos and occurs regardless of whether the 'exit'menu button or top corner 'X' are used. I get these messages upon a crash if I start kdenlive from a terminal.
