Created attachment 104471 [details]
error output of 'make -k'

Latest libkface (both 16.12.3 and master branch be78bce9dc5124896e6e50f45f5575c175adf454 ), fail to build against recent OpenCV 3.2.0 release.

Attached is the output of 'make -k' (on fedora 25)
Comment 1 Rex Dieter 2017-03-09 14:56:05 UTC
marking confirmed, fails on newer fedora releases too (where we first noticed it)
Comment 2 Rex Dieter 2017-05-03 13:53:12 UTC
Re-confimed with 17.04.0 release (and master/ branch which as of now, has no relevant commits beyond v17.04.0 tag as far as I can tell)
Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2017-10-03 21:12:24 UTC
Confirmed still an issue with kde-apps 17.08.1 release as well.

Notice if this isn't fixed soon, fedora will likely have to drop this package from it's collection.
Comment 4 Christoph Feck 2017-10-25 13:10:07 UTC
Adding KPhotoAlbum maintainers.

Comment 6 Johannes Zarl-Zierl 2017-10-25 19:13:51 UTC
libkface has always been an optional dependency for KPhotoAlbum, and has been disabled by default since November 2016.

If libkface is officially dead, we'll just remove the code that adds support for it.
Comment 7 Rik Mills 2017-11-01 08:14:37 UTC
Coming up against this now Opencv 3.2 is in ubuntu 18.04 archive. I would echo the comments about have to remove this, and code that uses it, if no fix occurs soon.
Comment 8 Tobias Leupold 2017-11-01 09:02:27 UTC
As Johannes already stated, KPA would be okay with removing the libkface dependant code (at least for now).
Comment 9 Andreas Sturmlechner 2017-11-12 21:57:56 UTC
The question is not so much about KPhotoAlbum dropping support for it - it is optional after all, and we can simply package it without opencv support. But there is no other rdep for libkface left, and if it is just not important enough for someone to step up and make it catch up to OpenCV-3.2 and now 3.3, it probably should no longer be released with KDE Applications but moved to extragear.
