I have been using Kdenlive for several years, on several computers, all on Ubuntu.  In that time the only transitions that have worked consistently have been dissolve and the most basic wipe.  This is true in the time line preview and in rendered output files.  I now have a real need for some variation in transition for a project I'm working on.  
I've searched on the problem and I've seen several bug reports on this problem with Ubuntu but not suggested fixes.
In an attempt to correct the problem I've installed the kdenlive repository, purged the Ubuntu installed version and installed a clean copy from the repository.  The problem persists.  
I could really use some guidance on this.

You fail to mention what your problem actually is. Please detail, if it is an actual bug in Kdenlive. I strongly recommend to first check with the Kdenlive forum, before reporting a bug here. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Thank you for getting back to me.
I had found a similar bug report in an Ubuntu form and thought it was the same issue.  After digging deeper I found the issue.  PBSK
