Think of it as a call to action. Which modules / apps do I need to recompile with the debug switch? Just=20 'noatun' ... or 'kdemultimedia' 'kdelibs' etc.. Ok...I reconfigured kdemultimedia did a make clean make and make install=
in=20

Should I have deleted config.cache? I bet that noatun prints on stderr something along the lines of "Couldn't instanciate Noatun::Session" Basically it's an arts bug :) Do you have kdemm and kdelibs in different --prefixes by any chance? > > Here is the Backtrace: > ===================================== > [New Thread 1024 (LWP 6752)] > 0x41677669 in __wait4 () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6 > #0 0x41677669 in __wait4 () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6 > #1 0x416f3154 in __DTOR_END__ () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6 > #2 0x41276523 in waitpid (pid=6753 stat_loc=0x0 options=0) > at wrapsyscall.c:172 > #3 0x40a142d1 in KCrash::defaultCrashHandler () at eval.c:41 > #4 0x412748d5 in pthread_sighandler (signo=11 ctx= > {gs = 7 __gsh = 0 fs = 0 __fsh = 0 es = 43 __esh = 0 ds = 43 > __dsh = 0 edi = 135377584 esi = 3221222880 ebp = 3221222808 esp = > 3221222772 ebx = 1074367684 edx = 0 ecx = 135377584 eax = 0 trapno = > 14 err = 4 eip = 1074276302 cs = 35 __csh = 0 eflags = 2163270 > esp_at_signal = 3221222772 ss = 43 __ssh = 0 fpstate = 0xbffff2f8 > oldmask = 2147483648 cr2 = 4}) > at signals.c:97 > #5 <signal handler called> > #6 0x400827ce in Noatun::StereoEffectStack::start (this=0x811b2fc) > at ../../noatun/library/noatunarts/noatunarts.h:1692 > #7 0x40060587 in Engine::initArts (this=0x811b2b0) at engine.cpp:492 > #8 0x4005ef1c in Engine::Engine (this=0x811b2b0 parent=0x0) at > engine.cpp:243 > #9 0x40063bbe in Player::Player (this=0x811b218 parent=0x0) at > player.cpp:17 #10 0x4006847c in NoatunApp::NoatunApp (this=0xbffff7c0) at > app.cpp:79 #11 0x4001ad9f in main (argc=7 argv=0xbffff984) at main.cpp:53 > #12 0x415d9507 in __libc_start_main (main=0x80486ac <main> argc=7 > ubp_av=0xbffff984 init=0x8048674 <_init> fini=0x8048830 <_fini> > rtld_fini=0x4000dc14 <_dl_fini> stack_end=0xbffff97c) > at ../sysdeps/generic/libc-start.c:129 > > _______________________________________________ > kde-multimedia mailing list > kde-multimedia@mail.kde.org > http://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kde-multimedia On Friday 01 February 2002 02:37 am you wrote: > I bet that noatun prints on stderr something along the lines of "Couldn= 't > instanciate Noatun::Session" > Yes...exactly [paulr@kanga paulr]$ noatun=20 mcop warning: user defined signal handler found for SIG_PIPE overriding kdecore (KLibLoader): library libnoatundcopiface.la not found under 'module= '=20 but under 'lib' Couldn't instanciate artsobject Noatun::Session. Argh this (arts ;) bug is annoying. Basically you have two conflicting artsds (from different kde installs) and the wrong one is being run. -Charles Ugh. '/usr/bin/artsdsp' et al from 'arts-2.2-11' rpm installed by RedHat 7= .2=20 installer when I specifically specified no kde ( since it was old already )= .=20=20 I didn't think to look anywhere but the prefix path used when compiling. I uninstalled that rpm and everything is good.=20 Thanks for the quick help. =20 On Friday 01 February 2002 04:13 am you wrote: > Argh this (arts ;) bug is annoying. The bug that your reported no longer applies to the latest development (CVS) version of KDE. This is most probably because the bug has been fixed the application has been substantially modified or the application no longer exists. The bug report will be closed. -- Neil Stevens neil@qualityassistant.com Don't think of a bug as a problem. Think of it as a call to action.
