I have installed kde3-kiosktool-1.0-255.5.x86_64.rpm on openSUSE Leap 42.2, configured a new profile and assigned a user to the profile. But it seems not to work when log in as the user assigned. I have tested this with "KDE Plasma Workspace" and "Plasma 5".

Isn't KIOSK Admin Tools compatible with openSUSE Leap 42.2 or do I miss some steps to get it running ?

That's a KDE3 tool, which will not work with Plasma 5 that uses the standard .config directories instead of .kde3.

Please ask on the plasma-devel list how to configure restrictions. Some restrictions may work differently, or are not ported yet. Your use cases could improve kiosk support in Plasma 5.
