Could you please try to update to 3.1.3rc1 and check if the bug is still actual? I fixed quite a few transform mask bugs recently so it might have already gone. They get proper smoothing after turning layer off and on, but as you can see sometimes weird things happen. Also transforming seems to be really slow, I've tried to reduce resolution of transformed images and it helped a little. Currently I can't reproduce hanging. I've checked on 4.0 alpha and it seems to work ok except smoothing issue which I was able to pinpoint and reported separately here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388547 and here https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388548 I think this can be closed. Created attachment 104316 [details] File with filter layer over transformed layer I couldn't manage to fully get what's going on but I'll report this. There is problem with transform masks and it seems to be only on windows. On linux masks are slow but work. On windows Krita seems stalling/hanging after resizing. Please try to open attached file and try to transform already scaled down layer. Here I get hang after second try to transform. On linux I've got 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 on windows.
