It's really hard to track, mainly it works ok, but sometimes when I try to add filter layer or filter mask krita hangs, but not crashes. I usually use 4k canvas resolution. I can help tracking but need some advice how to do it.

Ah...

Can you tell us which version of Krita, what type of PC you have, which filters are usually the culprit? The information is really limited now. :(

Sure.
PC: i7 4770K, 16GB, HD7750
Platform: Windows 10
Krita: 3.1.2
Filter: any type, hanging happens after clicking "add filter mask" or "add filter layer". Problem is that it doesn't happen always, but usually after some time. When I open Krita everything works fine and it *sometimes* happen after a while.
I usually have lots of free RAM.
I can send you sample projects I'm working on, but unfortunately can't show to the public.

I think it's related to transform mask. Please try adding filter layer after opening this file:

Adding filter mask seems really fast, adding filter layer takes long and sometimes hangs krita, but I'm unable to reproduce hanging unfortunately.
