The digital clock widgets sizing when used in the panel has been adjusted with plasma 5.9.0. While the spacing was broken before, the clock now is quite small when using it together with the date and quite large, when using it without the date (see Bug 375966). 

The date is placed on the left side of the clock, when the panel height becomes really small. However, if I adjust the panel height to the largest point, where this happens, the clock is still very tiny. 

I want to be able to view my clock from one or two meters away of my monitor. I often just want to have a quick look at the screen and get the time, without concentrating and stress my eyes.

=> Please add an option to adjust the font size manually (there are many different use cases and there might not be a one size fits it all solution). Alternatively, add an option to always display the date left to the time, such that the time becomes larger.

some comments in Bug 370156 also expressed the wished to add a manual size option

(automatic size adjustment maybe still enabled by default and fit a large portion of the plasma users)

Seems reasonable on both the date/time and main clock font size.

The ability for a user to opt out of the defaults and make their own choices within some reasonable bounds, certainly fits with the general KDE/Plasma ethos of giving users control of their desktop.

[Digital Clock] Use a smaller font size in horizontal panel mode

Hi there. Using Plasma 5.12.

Please reopen.

The reporter stated clearly: "Please add an option to adjust the font size manually (there are many different use cases and there might not be a one size fits it all solution)."

At this time there is no such option.

Upon updating Plasma to 5.12 all that I got was a smaller font size with no recourse to either a) revert to the previous size or b) manually adjust that myself.

For me, the larger clock size was great. As Rik said, this is consistent with Plasma's vision of putting users in control of their desktops.

Thus, I ask this bug to be reopened until a way to either a) revert to the old size; or b) make the font size manually adjustable is implemented.

It is literally impossible to do everything every user explicitly asks, they are often conflicting.

We have to extract what the problem is and fix that problem.

If you can explain the problem where adding an option is a solution, we can add the option. If you just say you want it, it won't.

The bug request explicitly stated the following:

This part is not implemented yet and therefore the bug should remain opened.
