bug trace crash report

Unfortunately the backtrace is lacking debug symbols. If you are able to reproduce please install the debug packages provided by your distribution (please ask the distribution support channel on how to install them) and attach a new backtrace. Currently there are no debug packages available for the 5.8.5 LTS repo at Opensuse. If that's the case opensuse should disable crash reporting. >If that's the case opensuse should disable crash reporting.
That's not a very constructive statement Martin and will not make bugs magically disappear.
Anyway strange and bizarre, machine put in S2RAM and returned the following day and now Kwin does not crash when Google Earth is loaded.
NB no updates were performed in the intervening time.
I'll monitor the situation and if necessary switch repos to mainline release at opensuse if I can't persuade them to provide a debug repo along side the 5.8.5 LTS repo and see if the problem is present.

I'm wasting hours on them. No, it doesn't make bugs go away to disable the crash reporter, but it ensures that I have time to fix bigs instead of setting to needs backtrace. (In reply to Dragon 32 from comment #2) > Currently there are no debug packages available for the 5.8.5 LTS repo at > Opensuse. Building of debuginfo packages was disabled by mistake for this repo. We enabled it now, so they should start to appear as packages get rebuilt. >Building of debuginfo packages was disabled by mistake for this repo.
We enabled it now, so they should start to appear as packages get rebuilt.

Thanks wolfi, big thumbs up.
Unfortunately I still can't get Kwin to crash again with Google-Earth. If it does come back then I now have the debug packages available to provide the full backtrace information requested.
Thanks again to all concerned.
I've switched to 5.9.3 with QT5.8 and I am still experiencing crashes when opening Google Earth. As requested I've added the kwin5-5.9.3-182.3 debug info package for backtrace. If there is anything further you require please let me know. Thanks Created attachment 104508 [details]

Thanks for the backtrace. Seems to be another case of bug #363224 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 363224 *** |
Created attachment 103508 [details] bug trace crash report Google Earth 7.1.7.2606 (7.1.8 also shows this behaviour) crashing kwin_x11 on launch with segfault, KDE 5.8.5 LTS. Kwin restarts itself and all is fine, the application itself does not crash. NB Nvidia propriety driver version 375.26
