Clicking the network icon in the right side panel pops a half-visible network window up - in the second screen

I run a panel on the right side, with a number of applications (I guess, as many do, though not necessarily on the right screen edge).
All pop-ups at mouse over show in the wrong location, or don't show at all. Mostly, they pop up on the second screen, instead of next to the panel. They did, with a similar setup, in Plasma 4.

As explanation, find my attached file. It is a screenshot of both screens. Mouse-over doesn't do anything, it needs a (double)click for the widgets to do something. Some don't do anything. The network applet does, and places the window half visible into the second screen.

I can't go back to Plasma 4, alas, though these things get on my nerves. Especially those apps that I can never reach again once they are icons on the panel. Since clicks and even double clicks don't pop them up, I can't restore, neither quit.

It works for me in Plasma 5.8. If you can still reproduce this issue with Plasma 5.8, please add a comment.
